Tips for Make Children’s Bath Time Fun

Bath time can be the least favorite time for both kids and mothers. Almost every child goes through a stage where they don’t want anything to do with baths and will fight till the bitter end just to not go in the water. There are some tricks though to help get them on board and actually make it an activity that they look forward to.

Change Children’s Shampoo

Sometimes, the reason that children don’t like having a bath is because they don’t like the shampoo in their eyes and really, who can blame them. There are lots of children’s shampoos out there that don’t sting when they get in kids eyes. Try and find one that they like, even if it means buying one with their favorite cartoon character on the bottle. If your kids are excited about the shampoo you are going to use, they will be more willing to have a bath.

Children Enjoy A Bubble Bath

Bubbles are fun no matter what your age is. Get a bubble bath that really creates a lot of bubbles so that it makes the bath fun. Also, give them a bubble blower to play with while they are in the bath. It is the one place in the house where it really doesn’t matter if they spill the bubble solution so let them have fun with it.

Make Kids Bath Time Special

All kids like to have toys in the bath. Make it interesting by having special toys that only come out at bath time. Get toys that they really want to play with and let them know that they can only play with them in the bathtub. As soon as the bath is over, put the toys away and tell them that they can play with them next bath time. Soon, they will be requesting to take a bath.

Make Kids Bath Time Interesting

One of the best ways to get a picky bath taker into the water is to color it. Let them pick the color and use food coloring to tint the water. There is nothing quite like taking a bath in purple water. Don’t be worried about it turning them color, it takes way more food coloring than is in the bottle to tint a kid. Another thing you can do is mix a little bit of dish soap with regular paint and let them decorate the tub and shower walls. Even if the paint dries, it will wash off easily with a little bit of water because of the soap.

When in Doubt, Shower!

Some kids just don’t like being in water. See if they would rather take a shower, instead. Kids are able to take a shower rather than a bath as soon as they are able to stand on their own.

There are many different ways to get your kids excited about bath time. All it takes is a little bit of creativity and patience! Talk to them and see if they can tell you why they don’t like bath time and try and fix it so that they do.

Great article. I have actually tried the bubbles and toys. It does work. Sometimes I have a hard time getting them out.
