Almost everyone who has ever been a child or a parent knows the horrors of visiting the mall Santa Claus. Kids cry, scream, and make horrible faces, and much of it is caught by the camera. Think you have some bad kids and Santa pictures?  You might want to compare them to these kids who weren’t too thrilled to see old St. Nick!

An Oregon woman and her crying toddler were allegedly kicked off a public transit bus because the driver says the baby had been crying for a long time and it was disturbing her ability to drive. As you can imagine, the debate surrounding this story is quite heated, with many saying the bus driver was right to do what she did. After all, the safety of the other passengers was possibly at stake. But others say the bus driver should have handled it differently. What do you think?

Babies love movement.  After nine months of moving inside the womb, the world they are born to can be a bit of a shock to their systems.  There’s a good reason babies love to be rocked to sleep or fall asleep when they are riding in the car, but sometimes, what works for one baby won’t work for all of them.  The website Lil Sugar knows this and has created a list of 11 Movements that Calm a Crying a Baby.   If you have a crying baby and you’re running out of ideas, check them out!

Whether you call it colic, reflux, or overstimulation, many babies just have a tendency to cry – and cry, and cry, and cry.  Colic is a vague diagnosis which even doctors can’t agree upon or understand.  Since babies can’t tell us what is bothering them, we can only focus upon solutions.  Thankfully, there are some relatively simple things you can do at home to help your baby calm down.  Before you try any medication or technique, see your pediatrician to rule out serious health problems.
